Climbing towards Ticknall on the A514: Benjamin Noval (US Postal), Viktor Rapinski (Navigators) and Philip Deignan (Ireland) have a 13 minute advantage! Climbing towards Ticknall on the A514: Here come the peloton! Race leader Mauricio Ardila, with his Chocolade Jacques team around him, controlling from the front.
Climbing towards Ticknall on the A514: Paride Grillo (Ceramiche Panaria) and Nick Nuyens (Quick Step Davitamon) wonder who this big lens belongs to. Climbing towards Ticknall on the A514: Focussing on Charly Wegelius (Great Britain) in the main bunch.
Kings Newton: Rapinski and Noval are now alone, having asked the higher placed Deignan to drop back to give the break a chance (Deignan was virtual leader on the road by this time and the bunch would have chased for sure). Kings Newton: Rapinski and Noval power away from the junction, trying to extend their already substantial lead.
Kings Newton: Brett Lancaster (Ceramiche Panaria) leads the peloton in pursuit of the leaders. Kings Newton: Mauricio Ardila (yellow jersey; Chocolade Jacques) as ever near the front end of the peloton.
Kings Newton: 2004 Tour de France sensation for T-Mobile, Andreas Klöden, resplendent in German National Champion's colours. Kings Newton: top flight professional teams mixed with National squads made for a bumper entry - quality and quantity!
Kings Newton: British National Champion, Roger Hammond (centre), got a hero's welcome wherever he went. Kings Newton: Great Britain duo Paul Manning and Russel Downing.
Upper Broughton, King of the Mountains climb Cat 3: Noval and Rapinski are still in the lead with just 11 miles to the finish in Nottingham - but not for long. Just after this followed the chalkboard motorbike showing the gap as 1 minute and 45 seconds only! Upper Broughton, King of the Mountains climb Cat 3: and here come the chasing peloton, led by Brett Lancaster again (out of shot). That's Ryan Cox (Barloworld) in the white with green and yellow stripes as reigning South African National Road Race Champion with Ben Day (Mr Bookmaker.com) alongside him wearing the King of the Mountains leader's jersey.
Upper Broughton, King of the Mountains climb Cat 3: mid-bunch. Roger Hammond can be seen to the left and the ever-attentive race leader, Mauricio Ardila, to the right. Upper Broughton, King of the Mountains climb Cat 3: the rear of the peloton nearing the top of the days last real climb. The T-Mobile rider is Mario Aerts.
